Last night I went to work thinking it was going to be just the usual type of night. Instead I was told they needed girls to help out at Braz for the cause. There were no boys allowed out on the buffet line. They had to all be behind the curtain and not visible to any of the guests at the event. It was a lot of fun. There were 900 women out for this event. We had 8 identical buffet stations. There were only 3 on us girls plus a number of servers. We had to see what foods we running out and let the kitchen staff know and then replenish those foods. There ended up being lots of food for everyone. When it came to the desserts I helped by sprinkling icing sugar on everything and helping everyone stay organized. It got pretty messy as they kept dropping chocolate pave on the floor and then people would step in it and it was everywhere. I ended up with chocolate all over myself some how. I think he's the sous Chef but he said he read my resume and wondered how I ended up at the Sports centre and not at the Top of the Fair and I told him I'd love to work there and I didn't know but maybe that was just where they needed me. He said he would definitely have me back to help out over there so that was good. He asked if I had my Red Seal and I said not yet I still have at least another year of Apprenticing to do. Kenny told me before that both the Chef and Sous have their Red Seals so you know they would be supportive of me working towards that. I'm hoping I do end up over there eventually We'll have to wait and see I guess.
